A Vintage Standard
The attached picture has come to light in the archives of the local folk museum in Trondheim, Norway. I've been asked what make of car it is, and has suggested a vintage Standard. Can you confirm this, and if so shed some more light on model and year?
It's strange that the picture should be found where it was, because the buliding behind the car suggests England, and not Norway..........
It is a Standard. Thanks for the excellent photo
I am almost certain it is a 1920/21 Model SLO 4 seater. I say almost certainly because I have never seen one before, nor even a photograph.
The reason for that is that almost all of them were 2 seaters on a shorter chassis, like my own. Only 4 of the 2-
survive, so it would be good to find a 4 seater Significantly it was Standard's first Overhead valve engine, of 1608 cc, with a 3 speed gearbox. With a Big 4 seater body I guess it might have been a little underpowered.
