Castings Manager Wanted!

Updated: Dec 29, 2024

A VOLUNTARY POSITION

An opportunity has arisen for a Volunteer to work in the Spare Parts Development Team for the Standard Motor Club. In particular we need a volunteer to manage the development and manufacture of a variety of small Castings for a range of our cars. The materials in use are Aluminium, Cast Iron and Brass.

In detail the task is to supervise the development of drawings, where necessary, and the oversee of production of prototype patterns. The Manager then needs to liaise with the chosen foundry and machine shop with the objective of producing batches of the desired parts, for sale exclusively by the Club.

Finally, the Manager needs to store the finished components and fulfil orders arriving from the Webshop as they arise.

The Manager needs to be able to manage a number of separate developments not all of which will necessarily be at the same stage.

This is NOT a full-time commitment. At the most, it is a couple of hours a week and may suit a retired or semi-retired person with a desire to make a contribution to the growth of the Club.

Further detail can be obtained in a non-committal discussion with Phil Homer, Pre48 Spares Manager on 01727 868405
