For Sale - Very Rare, 1928 Standard Nine, with coachwork by Gordon England.  – BARGAIN price for re-import

Advert dated 12th Dec, 2024

(8.9 H.P.   1155 cc side valve engine)  One of only two known survivors of this style of coachwork (out of 100 examples that were built by Gordon England).

Interesting history, previously owned in the 1930's by Sir Keith Holyoake, (1904 - 1983) who was a former Prime Minister and Governor-general of New Zealand. In 1938 ownership passed to a soldier who sadly never returned from World War 2. Just before the war the car was badly damaged in an accident and was then put into long term storage when the soldier went off to war.  Purchased by the current owner in the late 1950's who then restored it to the current condition.

Includes a large amount of spares including several engines, differential, gearbox, steering box, front axle and new head gaskets all collected during 60 plus years of ownership.

Sensibly priced at $15,000 NZ (which equates to approx £6,800 at current exchange rates)  plus the cost of shipment from Christchurch, New Zealand.
