Mark and Val Farrall in their 1901 Albion Dog Cart.
Our last main event of the season, the Derek James Autumn Run is fast approaching and due to take place on Sunday 13th October 2024.
This year, as usual we have a road run planned, however, this will be followed by a visit to the private collections of Mark and Mike Farrall. We have been offered this wonderful opportunity to see the collection of veteran cars of Mark (including the rare Albion cars) plus the collection of motorbikes of Mike (Rudge plus early Japanese). Both collections are stunning and extensive with some real rarities amongst them. There is also a nod to The Standard Motor Company through the SS and Jaguars in the collection plus a large collection of auto memorabilia .
As you would expect this is a limited number opportunity and places will be allocated on a "first come" arrangement. The plan for the day is as follows:
09.45 - Meet at The Running Hare, Ewloe.
10.00 - Leave The Running Hare, Ewloe
11.30 - Arrive at the Farrall Transport base for a sandwich lunch at "Fodder at
Farralls" (Sandwich and a drink - £7.50 or Sandwich, Drink and Cake - £10.00)
This is new cafe that has started on site owned by Danielle Burnside serving a range of hot and cold sandwiches and batches, home made cakes and hot/cold drinks. Danielle is opening up especially for the group and I would like it that we can all support this new venture.
12.30 - View the collections on site, chat and if the weather is good see some of the
cars running
Mark and Mike are kindly offering tea and coffee throughout the afternoon so we can spend a few hours looking nattering and making the most of this opportunity. There will be a minimum donation of £10 per car to attend please, proceeds of which will go to a charity of Mark/Mike's choice.
If you wish to join us on the 2024 Derek James Autumn Run and be part of this unique visit please let me know by Friday 13th September please. After this date I will be opening up the opportunity to the wider group and others. Once confirmed I will send out the menu choices for the food as it is all freshly made on site and thus a pre order is necessary.
Don't miss out.
Best wishes
