The Redbourn Fair and Classic Car Show

A new event for the Chiltern Group of the Standard Motor Club.

A Standard Eight and a Standard Ten amongst the crowds at this very popular event

The Redbourn Fair and Classic Car Show took place on the afternoon of 4th September on the huge Common land in Redbourn, Hertfordshire.

So big is this Village Common that the Funfair, Classic Car Show and Public Car Parking can all be held in the same place, whilst still leaving room for a cricket match to take place at the same time. It was superbly organised by the local Rotary Club.

We picnicked amongst the 350 cars attending whilst a number of local bands played for our entertainment from the back of an articulated lorry. We enjoyed the best real ale served up by the local Farr Brew brewery.

Unfortunately, the promised sun refused to come out, but we were visited by literally thousands of enthusiastic locals who all willingly donated just £2 to charity for the privilege of viewing the spectacular assembly of cars.

This was obviously such a success that it will no doubt be held again next September and we encourage more of you to make the effort to show your car.
