The Club is a keen supporter of the Standard-Triumph Forum, which is an umbrella organisation for all Standard and Triumph Clubs in the UK and organises events in its own right.

The SMC is also an active  member of the Federation of Historic Vehicle Clubs,  a confederation of like-minded car clubs that looks after the interests of the owners of all older vehicles. The combined membership of the FBHVC is over 250,000
